A Day In The City

Today was a pretty good, except that I didn't have a cup of coffee in the morning. I went back to the city today cause I needed to return my library book, some person had requested, so I needed to give it back since it was overdue. However, I did want to go back since I wanted to get stuffing for my Gabu army, (I ordered the eyes, they're here, I shall get them Monday!). Anyways, after I returned my book, I went on a food and yarn crawl (more for food then yarn).
I went to Smiley's Yarn intending to only get a crochet hook, however I couldn't stop myself from getting the circular needles since I didn't have this size. I think I'll need it sometime in the future. After returning my book, I went to Knit-A-Way to look at their nice yarn, then since it was close, I went to Fast&Fresh Burrito Deli and got myself a Pastor Torta. It comes with lettuce, tomato, avocado, fried beans, cheese, jalapenos, mayo and spicy pork with pineapple. The torta was a bit on the hard side when I had it cause I waited 20 mins before consumming( I had to find somewhere to sit!). However it was good, the fried beans, jalapenos and avocado were terrific. The spicy pork was spicy and I don't really know what happened to my pineapples, it seemed to have been missing! I was expecting chunks, but there wasn't any. After my torta, I went to get some Greek yogurt at Yoghurt Place II. I got mine with apricot fig jam and almonds. The apricot fig jam and almonds were good, they made the yogurt yummier. The Greek yogurt is a lot thicker than normal yogurt, it's more cream cheese like to me. Without the toppings, the yogurt pretty much wasn't as tasteful to me.I finally got the stuffing for my Gabu Army. The eyes are coming. Hopefully I'll get at least one stuffed soon. Not this week, midterms coming, maybe this weekend or next.
Some people collect stamps, others baseball cards, I collect color cards. I've always had this liking for color, I'm fascinated with it, the shades and especially the names. I love the imaginative names people think of for a certain shade, say "pale shrimp"

Nodame's Teddy Bear Army (haha)

It's been a good week so far. Lots of happiness for me. First off, Nodame Cantabile chapter 127 finally came out. The manga has been on hiatus for half a year, but I didn't quite catch on till this January, after watching the live drama. After waiting a little over a month, I finally got to see how Nodame's debut was. Now I gotta wait again for the next chapter, which should come out in about 2 weeks, that shall be semi-fast.
Next off, I finally finished the teddy bear blanket I've been working on. It's all done, finished and I got pics to prove it, too.
It's not quite done in the picture, but I assure you, I've finished it.
Last, but not least, I finally found reasonably priced black doll eyes for my gabu army. I ordered about 100 pairs, so I'll definitely have my very own gabu army sooner or later. However, I think they have a problem with my shipping address, so I don't know when I'll get it, but I best get it soon.

A great comparison

As I was sitting here a few hours ago and knitting my blanket squares, I thought of something. I thought, "hmmm... my knitting is just like my writing. haha." When I write, I have trouble with writing the conclusions, I just can't seem to not resummarize. When I knit, my bind offs are usually much wider than the beginning, so it's fatter on one end, thus I have trouble ending, just like my writing. Well I solved the knitting problem, use a smaller needle, but what should I do about my conclusions? Use a larger font?

Hat Frenzy

I've mentioned recently that I desperately need a new hat since my current one is being worn out. Well, over this weekend, I got to it and made myself a nice new hat. Pictures please.

Here is a picture of my current hat. I think having braved the whole winter, it's time for my hat to take a break, but asides from that, it's getting a bit loose around the brim.

The Dizzy hat that I made this weekend. It needs to be blocked. It has holes, so it'll let the heat escape from my head which is a plus in the spring.

Here's the new hat I'm working on. It has dinosaurs on it, yay! However working with two colors is not all that fun, so I have no idea when I will be done. Asides from that I think I made a mistake in calculating the position of the charts, so I don't know if I want to rip it back or not. I do cause I'm a crazy perfectionist, every details got to be right, but then I don't want to rip it cause it took me a while to get to here. Decisions, decisions, but hopefully it shall be done in time for next winter ;)
